SAN DIEGO (February 21, 2012) – The award-winning Actors’ Conservatory Theatre (ACT- San Diego) is tickled pink to present Legally Blonde The Musical.Having won over audiences across the nation, Elle, Bruiser and friends will make their ACT- San Diego debut for a two week limited engagement, opening Friday,March 23 – April 01, 2012. 

ACT- San Diego’s production comes to life through a promising local cast of rising young stars.  This high-energy pop musicals fun and catchy score features music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and book by Heather Hach.  This hysterical and sweet musical has all the charm of the original movie, and then injects it with non-stop, thrilling musical numbers. Two different casts will perform this musical.

 THE STORY

Legally Blonde the Musical is a fresh and effervescent evening of musical fun, stylishly wrapped up in a smart pink bow!  Elle Woods is the college sweetheart and homecoming queen who doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for someone ‘serious', Elle puts down the credit cards, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law School.Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Actors’ Conservatory Theatre (ACT – San Diego) is a nonprofit youth theatre company led by award-winning and nationally recognized directors, choreographers and technicians. The quality of the training is superb, as is the quality of their theatrical productions. Legally Blonde the Musical will be directed by Leigh Scarritt and choreographed by award winning Tiffany Jane.  The creative team also includes Shane Simmons(Musical Director) and Douglas Lay (Dramaturg).
