(MESA, Ariz.) –
On Monday, June 22 – Friday, June 26,
2009 the performing arts organization Actor’s
Youth Theatre will proudly be
presenting the high-spirited musical romp Thoroughly
Modern Millie at the Legacy
School Theatre in Mesa, AZ.
This
zany 1920’s musical takes place in New York City and tells the story of young
Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life. Set in
a time when women were just entering the workforce and the rules of love and
social behavior were changing forever, Thoroughly
Modern Millie is a story full of jazz and intrigue.
“We
are thrilled to present this musical that has taken Broadway by storm,” said
Producing Artistic Director and Theatre Manager Julie Clement. “It will truly
encompass the skills and tremendous talents of all of our students.”
Performances
will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, June 22 – Friday, June 26, as well as at 3

ACTOR’S YOUTH THEATRE
Actor's
Youth Theatre is an independent 501(c)(3) performing arts organization with
the mission of educating, entertaining and enriching the lives of young people
and their families through the art of theatre. AYT provides opportunities for
youth to develop their acting abilities and musical talents through
comprehensive performing arts workshops, community outreach, performance
opportunities and the presentation of theatre productions for school and family
audiences. AYT is associated with La
Musique Academy of Music, Arizona's finest multi-media music education
center and AZ Desert Dance Power.
