Broadway Kids of San Diego
 This summer Broadway Kids of San Diego will produce two shows. The kids only theatre company opens with HONK! Jr., book and lyrics by Andrew Drew and music by George Stiles, is directed by company producer and founder, Alice Cash, and assisted by Arielle Pardes. HONK! Jr. is an award winning musical adaptation about the timeless tale of the ugly duckling. HONK ! Jr. opens on August 2 and 3, at 7:00pm, at the David & Dorthea Garfield Theatre at the JCC in La Jolla, 4126 Executive Drive.
The Broadway Kids of San Diego is an award winning children's theatre company , to keep production costs down, all the rehearsals are held in the director's backyard, and feature an all teen production team. HONK! Jr., a "Broadway Junior Collection" with special arrangement through Musical Theatre International, features a cast of 26 children, ages 8-17. Honk! Jr. stars Matt Maretz as Drake, Zoe Katz as Ida Victoria Tecca as Ugly, and Gaby Espinal as the Cat.
This year the teen production team include choreographer, Charlotte Wen, and costumers Guyanna Bedington and Alejandra Jimenez. Honk! Jr. is anything but ordinary, just like the cast. The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged), by Jess Borgenson, Adam Long and Daniel Singers, is the all teen production directed by Josh Herren. The play is a farce about Shakespeare's plays. This show is recommended for the mature teen and older, and will be performed at Sixth @ Penn Theatre 3704 6th Ave in San Diego and will run August 7 and 8th, at 6:30pm.
