Broadway Kids
of San Diego
The
National Youth Theatre award winning Broadway Kids of San Diego announces it’s
third summer season with the upcoming Tony nominated musical production of The
Apple Tree.
The
Apple Tree is
a show with two one-act musicals. The
first act is “The Diary of Adam and Eve,” an adaptation from the Mark Twain
novel, with Andrew Ribner and Charlotte Ostrow playing the leading
roles. The next is the story of
“Passionnella” a Cinderella-like story, in which Ella [Adriana Yedidsion],
a chimney sweep, becomes the beautiful movie star, Passionella.
The ensemble features the talented Jamie Bock, Ryan Murphy,
Chelsea Huntly-Playle, Jonathan Edzant, Laura Grace Barnes,
Alexandra Chenelle, Jake Kelsoe, Melanie Farfel, and Henry
Riggins and Sarah Raoufpur at Stage Manager.
This
year director Alice Cash, Canyon Crest Academy Junior, boasts the
performance will be performed in the round and with a live orchestra conducted
by Torrey Pines High School senior, Jeffrey Sweet and choreographed by
Torrey Pines High School Junior, Charlotte Wen.
Broadway
Kids of San Diego is a kids only theatre company where children really do
everything, all rehearsals are held in the director’s backyard to help keep
costs down. But this is anything
but a backyard production, The Apple Tree, will be performed at the David
and Dorthea Garfield Theatre, at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center,
4126 Executive Drive, La Jolla, Wednesday, August 22 and Thursday, August 23 at
