Canyon
Crest Academy Presents:
Urinetown
- The MUSICAL
URINETOWN – The Musical
is coming to Canyon Crest Academy High School May 3-5, 2007.
Don’t miss this satire of musical theater traditions with a Brechtian
edge! Urinetown pokes fun at corporate mismanagement and petty-minded,
small town politics with an absurd plot and an unconventional ending meant to
shock audience expectations. With
equally outrageous characters like Officers Lockstock and Barrel, the evil
Caldwell B. Cladwell and his innocent daughter Hope, fast talking Penelope
Pennywise and her young apprentice Bobby Strong, the lovable Little Sally and
many more, it is impossible not to get caught up in the ridiculous
antics.
URINETOWN features
the talents of CCA students Keith
James, James Pratt, Wyatt Gastil, Dan Kohler, Cindy Mersten, Ryan Sandrew, Zoe
Katz, Staley Carter, Estevan Montemayor, Justin Gleiberman, Tiffany Gaines,
Brent Burbank, Alexa Bergman, Spencer Meredith, Nick Scutti, Ashley Abed,
Caitlin Curl, Carmen Dutton, and Krista Colley.
Directed by CCA’s own Michael Schwartz, it features the musical
direction of Tim McKnight and choreography by Liv Isaacs-Nollet.
The Stage Manager is Kyle Pollitt.
URINETOWN will be
presented at CCA located at 5951 Village Center Loop Road in San Diego in its
beautiful proscenium theatre. Shows
are May 3rd at 7:00 p.m., May 4th at 4:00 p.m., and May 5th
at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets
are $16 for adults, $10 for seniors and $6 for students.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.cca-envision.org.
Urinetown is a CCA Envision production, a unique, award-winning
arts program which enriches the lives of all CCA students through a wide variety
of classes -- both during and after school -- through opportunities for
exploration and interaction with teaching artists in their chosen fields of
study. Envision is made
possible by the generous support of the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation, www.canyoncrestfoundation.org.
