Into the Woods Junior

Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim    Book by James Lapine

This charming and irresistibly clever musical takes familiar characters such as Jack (and his beanstalk), Cinderella and her Prince, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, The Witch and a host of others, and weaves a brand new tale.

The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as Sondheim and Lapine offer up a fun filled and frolicking fairy tale where all of your favorite characters meet and interact on their journeys.

Into The Woods Junior is a funny and engaging way to get people to think about the stories with which they've grown up and the ethical issues raised therein. This is a shortened version of the Tony Award-winning show by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, and is suitable for all ages.

The cast of 20 local talents ranges in age from 8 to 17, and is directed by North County ’s own Athena Espinoza and Olivia Schulenburg and choreographed by Mandy Langen . 

Performances will be Thursday, February 3, Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5 at 7:30 pm and a matinee on Sunday, February 6 at 2 pm .

The production will be held at the Carlsbad Cultural Arts Center , located at 3557 Monroe St. , ( Lancer Way ) on the campus of Carlsbad High School .
