JOSE, CA – (DATE) Children’s Musical Theater San Jose presents School
House Rock February 28 – March 2, 2008 at the Montgomery Theater in
downtown San Jose (corner of Market and San Carlos streets). Tickets are now on
sale to the public for $17 adults, $14 children 12 and under. Special Target®
Family Matinee performance Saturday, March 1 at 12 noon, all tickets $9.00.
A
pop culture phenomenon, School House Rock brings the Emmy
Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series to life. All the
original tuneful songs help light up the stage, cleverly educating today’s
youth about history, grammar, math science and politics. School
House Rock promises to win audiences over with imagination and music
using beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs including “Just A Bill,” “Lolly,
Lolly, Lolly”, “Conjunction Junction” and more.
CMT’s
production of School House Rock features over 100 young
performers, ages 8 - 13 and is directed by Nathan Cummings. Though School House
Rock marks Cummings’ CMT debut, he has made a name for himself throughout the
country directing youth theater and will no doubt impart his skills and love for
musical theater to CMT’s Rising Star performers.
CMT
is proud to be the recipient of an ongoing sponsorship from the Target®
Corporation. The first Saturday matinee of each 2007 – 2008 production is a
Target® Family Matinee with all Rising Stars prices fixed at $9.00. The School
House Rock Target® Family Matinee will be Saturday, March 1 at 12 noon.
Performance
schedule is as follows: Thursday, 2/28 at 7 pm; Friday, 2/29 at 7 pm; Saturday,
3/1 at 12noon, 4 pm & 8 pm; Sunday, 3/2 at 1 pm & 5 pm. For more
