Children’s
Theatre of Charlotte Presents Two Special Family Events in November:
Billy Jonas and “Tarradiddle Tales”
Children’s
Theatre of Charlotte is thrilled to welcome Billy
Jonas to the McColl Family Theatre at ImaginOn (Nov. 1-2). Back for
his tenth consecutive season, this composer, songsmith, and percussionist uses
his voice, his instruments and a lot of audience participation to create a
uniquely engaging show. His original pieces, played on “industrial
re-percussion” instruments made from found and recycled objects, seek to
awaken the creative energy in everyone. This show will feature the Billy Jonas
Band, as well as new songs from Billy’s soon to be released album, Happy
Accident.

Children’s
Theatre of Charlotte will delight younger audiences with “Tarradiddle
Tales” (Nov. 22-23), a special Tarradiddle Players production for
preschoolers. A
great introduction to live theatre for our youngest audiences, “Tarradiddle
Tales” explores four simple folk tales from four different countries: “The
Magic Tree,” a Bantu folk tale; “Peter the Fool,” a Danish story;
“Spider Talk,” an Anansi story from
Ghana
; and “Tiger Trap,” from
India
. Three actors tell the tales in a playful storytelling style that makes clever
use of colorful prop pieces and involves audience interaction.
