Children’s
Theatre of Charlotte Presents Two January Special Events:
“The
Best of Omimeo” and Grey Seal Puppets’ “A Tangle of Tales”
Children’s
Theatre of Charlotte is thrilled to welcome two Special Events from
Charlotte-based artists to the stage of the Wachovia Playhouse at ImaginOn in
January.
For
30 years, the Omimeo Mime Theatre has offered audiences a cornucopia of
creativity and imaginative theatre. In “The
Best of Omimeo” (Jan. 16-18) Hardin Minor, Eddie Williams and the
Omimeo regulars will present a special performance featuring favorite vignettes
from the Omimeo repertory. Special guests the Fettuccini Brothers, just back
from their tour of
China
, will add to the show with their comedy juggling antics. From circus arts to
acrobatics, mime to vaudeville, this show will keep you on the edge of your
seat. For ages 5+/Grades K+

Another
whimsical show from the Grey Seal Puppets, “A
Tangle of Tales” (Jan. 31 - Feb. 1) brings three folk tales from
around the world to life: ”The Frog Prince” from Germany, “Three Billy
Goats Gruff” from Scandinavia and “The Three Little Pigs” from England.
Along with these familiar stories, the performance includes charming moments of
puppet play. You’ll see a skinny ant dance a jig, “block heads” learning
how to get around and the zany “Wobblies” opening the show with an
extraordinary ballet choreographed to Kablevsky’s “The Comedian’s
Suite.” For ages 3+/Grades PreK+
