Conjunction Junction, What’s your Function?

San Marcos - Christian Youth Theater (CYT) students will present Schoolhouse Rock Live!  at Mission Hills High School. February 23- March 4. In the 1970's a group of educators got together and came up with a fun and simple solution to the oft-asked question:  Why do kids learn every lyric to their favorite song so easily, but fail to remember what a noun does in a sentence? And so, Schoolhouse Rock Live! was introduced as a Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs. Now this Emmy award wining, pop culture phenomenon is lighting up the stage in San Marcos.

Schoolhouse Rock Live! is a fun and educational show that will be familiar to many.  Remember those great songs you heard on TV for so many years, but couldn’t get out of your head?  Schoolhouse Rock Live! includes such classic hits as, “Conjunction Junction, What’s Your Function,” “Interplanet Janet,” and “I’m Just a Bill.”  Don’t be surprised if you leave the theater humming these tunes again.  And what about the dancing – this show also includes high energy, show stopping dance numbers that will get you moving in your seat.

The cast includes local actors Amy Morley of Escondido (Ms. Miser), Michael Sanchez of San Diego (History), Brett Dunn of Escondido (Science), Jon White of San Diego (Math), and Christina Kilpatrick of Escondido (English).
