San
Diego - We’re thrilled to announce our CYT production of Schoolhouse
Rock Live!, performed at Pacific Beach Middle School Auditorium, 4676
Ingraham Street, San Diego 92109. Show dates are May 14, 21 & 22 @
7:00pm and May 15, 16 & 22 @ 2:00pm. In the 1970's a group of educators got
together and came up with a fun and simple solution to the oft-asked question: Why do kids learn every
lyric to their favorite song so easily, but fail to remember what a noun does in
a sentence? And so, Schoolhouse Rock
Live! was introduced as a Saturday morning cartoon series that taught
history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs. Now
this Emmy award wining, pop culture phenomenon is lighting up the stage in San
Diego. Schoolhouse Rock Live! is a fun
and educational show that will be familiar to many. Remember those great songs
you heard on TV for so many years, but couldn’t get out of your head? Schoolhouse
Rock Live! includes such classic hits as, “Conjunction Junction, What’s
Your Function,” “Interplanet Janet,” and “I’m Just a Bill.”
Don’t be surprised if you leave the theater humming these tunes again.
And what about the dancing – this show also includes high energy, show
stopping dance numbers that will get you moving in your seat.
Oceanside
- CYT is excited to announce the production of The Sound of Music
at the Star Theater, 402 N Coast Highway, Oceanside 92054. Show dates are May 22
& 29 @ 7:00pm and May 22, 23, 29 & 30 @ 2:00pm. When a postulant proves
too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as
governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport
with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures
the heart of the stern Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their
honeymoon they discover that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand
the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over
the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most
thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre. The motion
picture version remains the most popular movie musical of all time.

School, 1615 Mater Dei Dr, Chula Vista 91913. Performance dates

you’d see me onstage? Now I’m here, there is no telling what may ensue! No,
there’s no telling what! But I’ll give you a clue” . . .
So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat in this fantastical, magical,
musical extravaganza! All your favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton
the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all the Whos of Whoville are
brought to life onstage. As each story unfolds, Seuss’ subtle themes appeal to
all ages. The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from
Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes tap, your
fingers snap, and your imagination run wild.
