Hartford, CT (September 8, 2011) - Marking the beginning of its 2011-2012 Family
Main Stage Series, Hartford Children's Theatre (HCT) proudly announces a pink-a-riffic
new production of Pinkalicious the Musical, directed by HCT Artistic Director
Ryan Ratelle and Summar Elguindy with musical direction by Louise Fauteux and
choreography by Caitlin Sailer. Based on the 2006 New York Times
Best-Selling Children's Book (HarperCollins), Pinkalicious the Musical opens on
Friday, September 23, 2011 at Hartford Children's Theatre's Carriage House
Theatre (360 Farmington Avenue, Hartford) where the show will run through
Sunday, October 9, 2011. Originally scheduled to play through October 2,
two additional 2 pm matinee performances have been added on Saturday, October 8
and Sunday, October 9 due to already strong ticket sales.
Pinkalicious the Musical features music and lyrics by John Gregor and book and
lyrics by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann.
Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents.
Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an
affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this
pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious
can figure out a way to get out of this
predicament.
HCT's Pinkalicious the Musical features an all adult cast of five including
Victoria Mooney and Christopher Cavallo of West Hartford as "Pinkalicious"
and her broccoli-loving little brother "Peter," Shannon Sobolow of
Marlborough as "Mrs. Pinkerton," Mike Bloom of Norwalk as "Mr.
Pinkerton" and Norwich resident Anne Fowler as "Allison" and
"Dr.
Wink."
Performances of Pinkalicious the Musical will take place at the Hartford
Children's Theatre's Carriage House Theatre (360 Farmington Avenue, Hartford),
easily accessible from I-84 and I-91. The performance schedule is as
follows: Friday, September 23 at 7 pm; Saturday, September 24 at 2 pm; Sunday,
September 25 at 2 pm; Friday, September 30 at 7 pm; Saturday, October 1 at 2 pm;
Sunday, October 2 at 2 pm; Saturday, October 8 at 2 pm and Sunday, October 9 at
2 pm.
Tickets for HCT's Pinkalicious the Musical are $22 for Adults, $17 for Children
(17 and under) & Senior Citizens and are available online at www.hartfordchildrenstheatre.org.
