KIDS
ON STAGE ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS FOR SUMMER THEATRE BOOT CAMP
April
29, 2009 (St. Joseph, MI) – Kids On Stage is now accepting registrations for
their 2009 Summer Theatre Boot Camp. Summer Theatre Boot Camp is designed
to give kids individual attention so they can expand their acting, perfect their
singing, refine their dancing and develop their overall performance skills.
Camps (with the exception of the Niles camp) will take place at The Chapel, 4250

313-2795. A pre-registration Early Bird Discount is available for
registrations received on or before June 1, 2009. Camps are divided into
five separate camp experiences. All grades are for students entering
school in fall 2009.
MADD
Camp, June 15-19 for 1st-4th graders. MADD stands
for Music, Art, Dance and Drama. Students rotate between creative music,
art dance and drama, each day. Campers will prepare and perform musical
numbers and dance routines; make their own props, costumes and set pieces. They
will work together to create their own "Fractured Fairly Tale" based
on classics such as Beauty and the Beast, The Three Little Pigs, Berenstain
Bears, Dr. Seuss and others.
Future
Stars Camp, June 22-26 for 4th-9th graders. Campers
will learn what it takes to be a rock/pop "American-Idol-style"
performer. They will develop and sharpen skills as an individual and ensemble
musical performer. The goal of Future Stars Camp is to take each participant
to the next level in their ability to perform before others. Students will be
critiqued, instructed and encouraged based upon their own skill level. Each
student will perform as both a soloist and part of a small ensemble.
Super
Trouper Music Theatre Camp, July 20-24 for 5th-12th
graders. Campers will learn and perform the musical Bugsy Malone Jr.
Pre-registration is critical in order to receive performance material
early. Campers must arrive at camp with the music learned and memorized. Auditions
for principal roles will take place on day one of camp.
Junior
Trouper Music Theatre Camp, July 27-August 7 (two week camp) for 3rd-9th
graders. Campers will learn and perform Disney’s Aristocats.
Campers will learn basic theatre fundamentals such as stage movement, script
marking, and vocal projection.
New
This Summer: NILES Junior Trouper Music Theatre Camp, July 6-17 (two week camp)
for 3rd-9th graders. Campers will learn and perform
Disney’s 101 Dalmations. Camp will take place at St. Mary’s Church,
211 S. Lincoln Ave. in Niles.

All
camps are directed by Doug Fordyce, owner/director of Kids On Stage. Kids
On Stage is a performing arts opportunity for school age kids grades 1 thru 12
to grow in self-confidence and communication skills through the preparation
and performance of high quality musical productions. Through this process
children learn fundamentals of practical theatre, vocal projection, stage
presence, basic choreography and make-up. Emphasis is placed on
teamwork,
self-accountability, commitment, self-fulfillment through hard work and
accomplishment and having fun on stage.
