Theatre of Anthem to Perform Once on this
Island Jr.
Anthem,
Ariz. September 15th, 2010 –
Musical Theatre of Anthem (MTA) announces performances for Once
on this Island Jr. This
highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairytale The
Little Mermaid garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run,
including Best Musical, Book and Score. In almost non-stop song and dance, the
show tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love
with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is
returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune
on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of
prejudice, hatred and death. Jackie
Hammond, Producing Artistic Director, is Co-Director and Vocal Director, and she
is joined by the immensely talented, Sherry Henderson, who is Co-Directing and
Choreographing. Rounding out the team is Assistant to the Vocal Director,
Ginette Rossi, and Assistant to the Choreographer, Anya Rogers. “This talented
cast will knock your socks off,” states Hammond.
“We are all very proud of this hard-working and inspiring cast.”
Hammond promises that “Even though audience members may not know the show,
they will walk away with it being one of their favorites.” Performances
will be held October 28 –30 at 7:00 p.m. and October 30-31 at 3:00 p.m. at
Boulder Creek High School’s Mini Auditorium.

"trick-or-treat" at Intermission with selected cast members and
receive some special Halloween treats!
Tickets prices are $18 for Adults and $15 for Students, Seniors, and Children 12
