Northglenn Youth Theatre Presents
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
NORTHGLENN, CO — The nationally acclaimed and award-winning Northglenn Youth Theatre (NYT) is proud to present CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. Performances will be held November 13-22 at the DL Parsons Theatre, located inside the Northglenn Recreation Center.
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is a story about an eccentric inventor who sets about restoring an old racecar from a scrap heap with the help of his children. They soon discover the car has magical properties including the ability to float and take flight. CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is based on the beloved 1968 film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book, and featuring an unforgettable score by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins).
Director Kimberly Jongejan explains how the opportunity to pay homage to her hero, and one of the stars of the 1968 film, Dick Van Dyke “was a no brainer.” She adds ”it’s been a joy to bring this story to life and an honor to work with such a fabulous cast and creative team. An added bonus has been re-discovering all the wonderfully inspiring tidbits in this script that continue to motivate us: rise above your circumstances, use your creativity to make things happen, love and family are incredibly valuable, and there is no retreat from the samba beat!”
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is proudly sponsored by the City of Northglenn, the Northglenn Arts & Humanities Foundation (NAHF), the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), Colorado Creative Industries and Dodge Sign Company. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 pm and Sundays at 2 pm, November 13-22. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for seniors and children. For tickets, call 303.450.8800.
