Original Broadway Cast Member and Award Winning Artistic Team to open "13" The Musical

PaccoArts proudly presents "13" The Musical. July 23-31st at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. Directed and Musical Directed by Sean Tamburrino and Choregraphed by Allisan Whitman. Allie Trimm, who played Patrice in the Original Broadway Cast, contributed as a Guest Director for the show.

 

Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown has composed the songs for this new musical comedy – smart, magnetic, and upbeat -- sure to speak to and captivate current, former, and soon to be teens.

In a middle school in Appleton, Indiana thirteen 13 year olds leap from childhood into a whole new fantastic and frightening era: their teens. Like kids everywhere, they suddenly are trying to survive classes, navigate cliques and be in with the right crowd and “cool”. In 100 song-filled minutes 13 is their provoking, engaging story, told with contagious energy and humor with all-teen performers and a teen band.

 

JASON ROBERT BROWN has been hailed as “one of Broadway's smartest and most sophisticated songwriters since Stephen Sondheim” (Philadelphia Inquirer), and his “extraordinary, jubilant theater music “ (Chicago Tribune) has been heard all over the world, whether in one of the hundreds of productions of his musicals every year or in his own incendiary live performances.  The New York Times refers to Jason as “a leading member of a new generation of composers who embody high hopes for the American musical.”
