3rd Annual Summer Youth
Theatre Festival featuring
King of the Jungle (elementary production)
Seussical the Musical (teen production)
Seussical the Musical
Seussical is a
musical based on an amalgamation of many of Dr. Seuss’ most famous books. The
plot of the musical mirrors the book Horton Hears a Who!,
centering on the elephant’s endeavors to protect the citizens of Whoville, who
live on a tiny speck of dust. It also features characters and scenarios from
other Seuss books: Mayzie La Bird from Dayzie-Head Mayzie,
Gertrude McFuzz from Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories, General
Ghengis Khan Schmitz from I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew,
The Butter Battle Book, Oh, The Places You’ll Go,
and The Sneetches and Other Stories. Serving as narrator and
devil’s advocate throughout the musical is The Cat, along with Thing 1 and
Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat Comes Back.

King of the Jungle
Kids love animals. Kids love to sing. Mix these
together with their fearless love for God and you've got the perfect children's
musical! From best-selling kids' musical creator Celeste Clydesdale comes her
latest, King of the Jungle. By observing the animals, the children
will learn about Noah's trust and obedience, Daniel's faith in God, as well as
other Biblical truths. Steven Curtis Chapman's popular song "King of the
Jungle" and the classic Barry McGuire favorite "Bullfrogs and
Butterflies" are among many of the upbeat, kid-friendly songs that the
children will love to sing and perform.
