SAN
DIEGO JUNIOR THEATRE’S 58TH SEASON CONTINUES
WITH 2 CHULA VISTA PRODUCTIONS
SAN
DIEGO – In April, SDJT brings William
Shakespeare’s timeless tale, Twelfth Night, to their satellite
location in Downtown Chula Vista. This popular Shakespeare comedy classic comes
alive in a plot thick with endearing characters, mistaken identities,
tantalizing trickery, often-confused passions and the quest for romance into a
fast-paced, plot-twisting visit to the kingdom of Illyria. Directed by Patrick
McBride, Twelfth Night opens on Friday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m. at the
Theatre on Third, 250 Third Avenue in Chula Vista. The show runs for two
weeks with show times on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Ticket
information for both shows is available by calling the box office at (619)
239-8355. Additional information can
be found online at www.juniortheatre.com.
San
Diego Junior Theatre (SDJT) will kick off Summer with the production of Lilly’s
Purple Plastic Purse. The diva mouse will arrive in Chula Vista with
her unpredictably wacky purse, from which surprises abound. Join Lilly and her
pals, Wilson and Chester, as they delight the audience with her big ideas in
this lighthearted, rib-tickling, zany tale. Based
on the well-loved books by Kevin Henkes, director Patrick McBride brings Lilly
into the limelight on Friday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. The show runs
for two weeks with show times on Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and
4pm.
SDJT is the oldest
continuing children’s theatre program in the nation. Now in our 58th
season, SDJT focuses on enriching the lives of children through the magic of
theatre arts. With our expansion to a third site at the La Jolla YMCA
Firehouse building, the availability of Junior Theatre classes and camps
stretches from the South Bay to North County, serving even more youth in the San
Diego area.
