Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher Return to Balboa Park. 

San Diego- San Diego Junior Theatre brings to life Mark Twain’s classic story of life along the Mississippi in pre-Civil War America. Twain’s intent was to entertain children and also, to remind adults of who they once were.

Directed by Desha Crownover, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer opens at the Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park on Friday, January 2, and runs through January 18, 2009. Performances are at 7:00 pm on Fridays, and at 2:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  There will be an ASL performance on Saturday, January 17. Junior Theatre has embarked on their 61st season with ten productions at their sites in Balboa Park and La Jolla. Their primary mission continues to be to provide all youth ages 4-18 the opportunity to experience the theatre arts through innovative classes, camps and outreach programs.
