San Diego Junior Theatre kicks off its 66th season with

Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr

58 Local youths from throughout San Diego County are performing in the stage production of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Jr,” presented by San Diego Junior Theatre. The musical is set in a magical kingdom fathoms below where the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice. “Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr” runs October 25 through November 17 at Balboa Park’s Casa del Prado Theatre on Fridays at 7 p.m. and weekends at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $10 to $14 and are available online at juniortheatre.com or by calling (619) 239-8355.

"I feel very honored to be directing Little Mermaid here at Junior Theatre,” says Director Rayme Sciaroni.  “Working on such a classic tale that is so familiar with so many, I am constantly inspired by my cast and crew in finding new and fresh ways to tell this lovely story.” Such memorable songs as "Part of Your World", "Kiss the Girl" and "Under the Sea", add dynamic colors and textures to each moment and create an enthralling experience for audience goers of all ages!

Founded in 1948, San Diego Junior Theatre is the oldest youth theater in the United States. Positively affecting students of all abilities, ages 4 through 18, it thrives through show ticket sales, class and camp enrollments and the generosity of its alumni and community members. Contributions to San Diego Junior Theatre are tax-deductible.
