YOUNG ARTISTS ENSEMBLE’S HILLCREST PLAYERS presents THE GONE DEERS A WORLD PREMIERE BY VICTORIA SAYEG
THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Young Artists Ensemble’s Hillcrest Players presents THE GONE DEERS, the latest work by published playwright Victoria Sayeg, who will also direct the new play with performers age 7-14. Performances are Saturdays, March 18 and 25, 2017 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 West Hillcrest Drive. About the new play: When astronauts accidentally discover an island inhabited by animals previously considered extinct, an intergalactic space ark brings the reluctant bunch to earth. Victoria Sayeg has written and directed several productions for Young Artists Ensemble, after studying theatre at South Coast Repertory and Gold Coast Theatre Conservatory. She has had three plays published by Dramatic Publishing, a publishing house for plays and musicals since 1885. “I am so excited to be directing such a talented group of young actors,” says Sayeg. “Their comedic timing is exceptional, so I’ve incorporated more real, genuine moments into this fast-paced comedy than in the past. These young actors are finding those moments and balancing them with the comedy.” Hillcrest Players gives young people an opportunity to flex their artistic muscles in a less demanding arena than a full-length production. The one-act plays provide young performers with a positive experience to increase self-esteem, self-awareness and self-discipline. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the box office at (805) 381-1246 or www.yaeonline.com. Reserved seats are $12 for adults, children, students and seniors.
