THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Young Artists Ensemble presents the first installment of Teen Drama since 2007, with the production of She Kills Monsters, directed by Ender Toone.  Performances are January 12 through 21, 2024, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 at In the Theatre on the Hill at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 West Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.  This show will feature young participants ages 13-19.

            The story of Agnes Evans, a young woman grieving for her deceased sister. The Evans sisters never were especially close, but after Tilly’s death Agnes receives a notebook containing a game scenario created by her sister. She discovers that Tilly was a well-known Dungeons & Dragons player, and that she was passionate about online fantasy gaming. In order to unlock more secrets about her mysterious young sibling, Agnes recruits a “dungeon master” named Chuck to help her understand and grieve Tilly. Chock-full of supermodel elves, warrior women, and nasty ogres, She Kills Monsters is a surprisingly sweet tale of friendship, loss, and acceptance.

            Reserved Seating is $19 for adults, $16 for Children, Students, & Seniors. Groups of ten or more receive a discount of 10% if purchased in a single transaction for a single performance (all group sales are final).             She Kills Monsters is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals www.concordtheatricals.com.  Please Note: This Production is PG-13 due to mature language, violence, and sexual situations.

Over-protective clownfish dad, Marlin, struggles to keep his son Nemo safe in the Great Barrier Reef. But when Nemo tries to prove he can do it on his own, he ends up in a dentist’s fish tank! If Nemo is going to ever return home, both father and son will need to push through all their fears and anxieties and find help from many unlikely allies along the way! 
 
THE LIGHTNING THIEF

Teenager Percy Jackson is trying to be a good kid, but mythological monsters just keep chasing him! Turns out he is the demi-god son of Poseidon, and he needs to find and return Zeus’s lightning bolt before there’s an all-out war of the gods. With Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and a satyr named Grover, Percy sets off on an epic cross-country quest to save the world, save his mom, and maybe even meet his dad.
