High School Sophomore National Finalists Showcase

Congratulations to our National Finalists! The judges will be ranking the
finalists in each age group, and after we get the results we will begin posting
the Top Ten and counting them down from there on social media before updating
the website with further results. If you haven't already, you can still email a headshot
and brief program bio for the website (and a resume if you'd like
us to include it in a portfolio that we'll put together for the agents we're in
contact with). There's a possibility
that eventually, after it's considered safe to resume large group settings, we'll
be able to have some of the honorees perform in a live showcase.

High School Sophomore - Arizona Bio: Emma Gass is sixteen years old and a Sophomore at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, AZ. She recently played Elsa in
Frozen Jr. at Spotlight Youth Theatre, was ensemble in Beauty and the Beast at Theatre Works, Charlotte in
13 the Musical at Spotlight Youth Theatre, and played Tanya in Bare at Spotlight Youth Theatre. In her free time, Emma enjoys dancing and spending time with her friends.

San Diego Junior Theatre - How Far I'll Go from Moana Bio: Melanie has been performing on-stage since she was seven years old. With professional training in dance, singing, acting, and instruments such as piano, guitar, and bass guitar, she is capable of playing many different roles within a production. To date, Melanie has performed in various different live stage productions such as
Moana Jr., Newsies Jr., Peter and the Starcatcher, and Pippin with the Francis Parker Drama Club, as well as the San Diego Junior Theatre.
Melanie has been part of various youth bands, which perform at community events and fundraisers all over Southern California. She is currently in SolidJAM Band, which was established in December of 2018. Melanie is also very involved with her community. She is a proud Filipino-American and works to spread awareness about her culture by performing at annual Filipino community events, partaking in organizations that promote Filipino pride and power, and staying true to her roots. She has been a member of the San Diego United Lions Club (under its youth organizations: Leos and Cubs) since 2013, and works to raise money for the club's chosen charities by using her talent.

High School Sophomore - Arkansas Bio: Turner Tecmire just completed her sophomore year at Northside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is a member of the N'Steppers dance team, active in her school choir and her church, competitive in NATS competitions both at the state and regional level, and loves all things musical theater and dance. She is not alone in her ambitious pursuit of the Broadway stage and looks forward to sharing her talents and love of the arts in the future.
